Scarab Paper and Craft Centre

This is the business that has perfected the art of paper production. A surprise is that elephant dung is included in the manufacturing process. Blank sheets of paper, printed cards or custom made invitations are for sale. Unique African art is also available in the form of mounted cards painted by our resident artist, Rita Knoetze. The majority of the gifts are made using re-cycled commodities underpinning our eco-friendly approach.

The contributing factor to the success of this market is that the majority of the stall holders have crafted their own products, which makes it entirely unique and original. You will find original art, handmade clothing, metal work, wooden products, hand spun wool, ceramics and many more. You will also have the opportunity to meet the real people who have used their creative talents to produce the most unusual array of merchandise. There is also a country market atmosphere because it’s the place to meet your friends, listen to live music, share your news and experience the spirit of the garden route.

The Red Roof

We have had fabulous parties under The Red Roof – from formal corporate award dinners to thumping barn dances. The unique handmade chandeliers provide subdued lighting with a truly rustic feel. The open fire pit next to the main building adds warmth and character. It is an excellent venue for weddings, parties and dances and has a capacity for 150 people. The venue is available for hire for your own private function.
